O-Wareness
Awareness through material, climate, texture, and intention.
At OFY, we work with natural and recycled fibers, specialty dye processes, and small-batch production methods that prioritize longevity, breathability, movement, and texture over excess.
Inspired by coastal living, heat, salt air, washed surfaces, and sun fading, our collections are designed to soften, evolve, and become more personal with wear over time.
Fiber Intent
We carefully select fibers based on how they perform in daily life — particularly within warm climates and humidity.
Every material is chosen with intention:
- airflow
- drape
- softness
- durability
- movement
- texture
- breathability
We believe luxury should feel effortless, not restrictive.
Fibers We Use
Organic Cotton
We frequently work with organic cotton jersey, twill, and novelty French terry for their softness, breathability, natural texture, and long-term durability.
Organic cotton is grown without many of the synthetic pesticides and fertilizers used in conventional cotton farming, helping reduce environmental strain while creating a cleaner, more natural fiber against the skin.
Many of our organic cotton fabrics are garment dyed and enzyme washed to create a softer hand feel and lived-in texture from the very first wear.
Supima® Cotton
Supima® represents less than 1% of cotton grown worldwide.
Its extra-long staple fibers create stronger yarns with a smoother surface, deeper color retention, and exceptional longevity.
We often use twisted Supima® yarns to create fabrics that feel simultaneously substantial, fluid, breathable, and resilient.
TENCEL™
TENCEL™ is a cellulose fiber derived from responsibly sourced wood pulp.
Known for its fluid drape, cool hand feel, and breathability, it performs exceptionally well in warmer climates while maintaining a refined appearance.
The production process operates within a closed-loop system designed to recover and reuse solvents while minimizing waste and water consumption.
Recycled Cupro
Our Japanese cupro fabrics are developed using regenerated cotton byproducts that would otherwise be discarded.
The result is a fabric with a silky touch, elegant movement, and natural breathability that offers an alternative to fully synthetic materials.
Cupro’s fluid drape and breathable nature make it especially suited for relaxed silhouettes and warm-weather dressing.
Dye Philosophy
Garment Dyeing
OFY pieces are dyed after construction rather than before.
This process allows garments to develop richer depth, softer texture, and subtle variations in tone unique to each piece.
The result feels more organic, broken-in, and individual over time.
Small-Batch Production
We intentionally produce many OFY garments in smaller quantities rather than mass-scale runs.
This approach allows for greater attention to detail, more thoughtful development, reduced excess inventory, and a closer relationship between design, fabric, dye, and final garment outcome.
Working in smaller batches also creates space for experimentation, nuance, and continual refinement throughout the production process.
Made Close To Home
Many OFY garments are milled, cut, sewn, and dyed in Los Angeles in collaboration with smaller production partners and specialty dye houses.
Keeping production closer allows for greater oversight, ongoing development, and a more intentional relationship with the people and processes behind the garments.
Designed For Heat & Humidity
Miami has deeply shaped the way we think about clothing.
Breathability, softness, airflow, and ease of movement are considered throughout every collection — from open mesh and lightweight gauze to fluid TENCEL™ twills and relaxed silhouettes designed to move naturally through warm environments.
Our goal is to create clothing that feels effortless in climates where comfort matters most.
We believe the future of clothing is slower, softer, and more intentional.
Designed to move through heat, humidity, travel, and everyday life with ease.
Made to be worn often.
Made to evolve over time.
Made to last.
